The grapes for this small 75-case production were grown in the Ballard Canyon AVA of Santa Barbara County in the famous Stolpman Vineyard. The fruit selected is solely Clone 3 from Block 5. The wine was aged in 100% new French Oak for 40 months. All 3 barrels we filled were a different species of oak adding additional complexity to this Syrah. Firm, yet approachable tannins quickly reveal the complex profile of charred fruit, black cherry liqueur, lavender, potpourri and vanilla flavors in this velvety palate-covering wine. Much of this iconic vineyards fruit provided the backbone to the cult wines of Sine Qua Non.
